In all his work, Prof. Rob Fleming strives to advocate for social equity in the built environment; Regenerate the natural environment and the aim of altering the current trajectory of human evolution towards a sustainable future. As a person of privilege, he focused a large part of his career on advocating for a society that will become diverse, equitable and inclusive, while making the efforts to integrate exactly this socially equitable society to a sustainable future.

Prof. Fleming is an award-winning educator, author, LEED accredited professional, and architect. He is the Co-creator and Director of the Master of Science in Sustainable Design Program at Thomas Jefferson University. He co-authored his third and fourth books: Sustainable Design Basics and Sustainable Design for the Built Environment. He is also the Salaman Family Chair in Sustainable Design, the Director of Education for the AIA Philadelphia Chapter, the Co-Founder of the Justice Alliance for Design Education in Philadelphia, and serves as a Board Member for the Center for Architecture and Design. Prof. Fleming is a Sustainability Fellow at Re:Vision Architecture in Philadelphia where he consults and facilitates integrated design charrettes.
